The Winemaker

Winemaker Antonio Pasos has been working with rare Mediterranean varietals that do well in the San Joaquin Valley.  Recently medals include a silver medal for the Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi grapes and silver medal for the Syrah from the Sierra Foothills at the California State Fair in 2006.  A gold medal was awarded for the Charbono from Lodi grapes at the Central California Winegrowers Competition. 

Pasos Vineyards, motto is simply: "Always put quality first."  They believe there is no getting around unsound grapes and the grapes of the Lodi Appellation have quality due to the fact that there always seems to be that special microclimate for that special and rare grape variety to thrive in for maximum flavor profiles.  That is the reason Lodi Appellation is becoming one of the finest growing areas in California.
